BOOKING TERMS

The plain-language version of what you're agreeing to when you book catering through this site.

Last updated: May 2026

Booking & payment

When you submit a booking request through the configurator, you're asking us to reserve a date and menu. We'll review the request and email you within one business day to confirm details and send an invoice through Square. Your booking is confirmed only once the Square invoice is paid. We don't process card payments on this site directly — payment goes through Square's secure invoice flow.

Pricing, taxes, and delivery

Prices shown on the configurator are per person and are subject to change for events booked in the future. The rate that applies to your order is the one shown when you submit your request, and we honor that rate on the resulting invoice. California sales tax is estimated by your event's zip code using rates we update against CDTFA guidance; the final tax amount is confirmed on your invoice. Delivery is included for events within our standard service area (see below); we'll quote separately for anything farther.

Cancellation & refunds

We reserve ingredients, scheduling, and grill time once a booking is confirmed (Square invoice paid), so cancellations follow a tiered schedule based on the time between when you cancel and your event date: 30 or more days before the event — full refund. 14 to 30 days before — 50% refund. Less than 14 days before — no refund. To cancel, email marinprovisions@gmail.com. Refunds are issued through Square back to the original payment method, within 5–10 business days of confirmation.

Food allergies & safety

Our food contains soy, sesame, wheat, dairy, and (in miso soup) fish stock. We grill over binchotan charcoal in a kitchen that handles all of the above, so we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. If you or a guest has a serious allergy, let us know in the booking notes and we'll work with you on substitutions where we can — but we can't take responsibility for cross-contact. Vegetarian skewer options are available; gluten-free preparation requires advance notice.

Event-day requirements

We bring the binchotan grill, fuel, and food. You're responsible for: a safe outdoor location for live fire (level surface, clearance from structures and overhangs, no fire ban in effect), reasonable access for unloading, and basic hand-washing access. We'll coordinate setup and breakdown timing with you a few days before the event. We follow local fire codes; if conditions on the day are unsafe (red flag warning, active fire ban, unsafe surface) we may need to switch to a pre-cooked spread instead of live grilling — we'll always check with you first.

Service area

Our online booking covers Marin County and adjacent Bay Area (San Francisco, Sonoma, parts of the East Bay). Events outside that range are available but require a custom inquiry so we can confirm logistics and travel.

Weather, illness, force majeure

We cater rain or shine; please plan covered space for outdoor events in case of weather. In the event of circumstances genuinely outside our control — extreme weather, illness, public health restrictions, etc. — we'll work with you to either reschedule (no fee) or refund in full, regardless of the standard cancellation schedule.

Limitation of liability

We carry general liability insurance and take food safety seriously. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts of Marin County, California.
